Somewhere off 12 mile drive

12 Mile Drive in Newport, RI is a lovely ride with the Atlantic Ocean on one side, and beautiful homes and scenery on the other. Newport, island home to the very wealthy in the 20th century era of summer mansions, showcases the history and charm of New England.   Once home to the America's Cup races, it is still a sailing town and inspiration to artists.  It is a favorite place for me to paint and spend time with friends in the quaint taverns and restaurants along the waterfront.  Having once been a resident, it always feels like home when I am there. I have taken some liberties with the colors in this painting, so if you know a place like this, it could be where your thoughts are!
