Fjord with Tree

This painting was inspired by a trip to the waterways in Alaska where the incredible almost becomes the norm.  The turquoise water would seem more at home in the Caribbean, yet here it was in Alaska with icebergs floating around in August!  The mountains, like fjords, rise out of the cold waters with amazing strength and visual awe.  If you haven't been to the great frontier of Alaska, it is worth the trip.  Such an environment is surreal and spiritual, and one cannot help but feel the need to preserve such beauty and grandeur.
