Opening Act - the Rose

A little realistic, a little contemporary, this gigantic rose was caught in the act of opening.  This particular large flower is on a rosebush decades old and never fails to disappoint.  No wonder it is the symbol of beauty and romance.  There are now several rose bushes in my garden, each one beautiful in its own way.  Looking forward to painting more this summer now that they are really showing off.
