Winter Dunes - New Year's Eve on Cape Cod

This painting was inspired by a brief moment of light that caught the sand dunes in Provincetown on Cape Cod on a New Year's Eve.

It was such a brief moment of golden, bronze, and something only another power can produce, that I wanted to try to create something that would always remind me of that particular experience.  The result is something a little contemporary, very blue, and very striking.  The grasses are touched by the glow, the cloud was unique (as most of them are) and it was just one of those moments when you look at the sky and the landscape and have to stop and look in awe.  There are a few other photos taken at the same time in those fleeting moments where I might try again to capture that something  that humans obviously can't capture very well - but it will be worth the effort.  Such an amazing thing to see.......more to follow.
